SERVANT LEADERSHIP
We cultivate servant leadership.
Jesus' leadership is grounded in service to God and others. As youth and young adult ministry leaders, we strive to serve rather than be served. We teach by example. We listen more than we speak. We are aware and responsive to the needs of everyone, especially those on the margins. We empower others through encouragement, coaching and mentoring. We go the extra mile for people. We solicit and respond well to feedback. We treat everyone with dignity and respect.
ACCOMPANIMENT
We encounter others as Christ does.
Accompaniment means that we need to trust that God is in control of a person's life and we are his gentle tools to guide God's children to receive his mercy. We help our brothers and sisters answer the call to live a deeper relationship with Christ and to judge God's will and calling in their life. Walking with people, or accompañamendo, means that we become one with our brothers and sisters; to share in their joys and pains. We strive to be truly present to the people we serve, through observing their lived reality. We seek not to bring solutions, but to allow people to discover those solutions by a deeper faith journey.
BEAUTY & RELEVANCE
We deliver the beauty of the Gospel into people’s lives.
The Gospel is the most precious and beautiful treasure that God has given us. We must find ways to expose and affirm the work of the Holy Spirit already alive and active in youth and young adult culture. We take seriously the responsibility to collaborate with the youth and young adult ministry leaders to reveal the joy and hope of the Gospel to every teenager and young adult that is relevant, authentic, attractive, engaging, and empowering in the hope that they will become disciples of Jesus.
