Pope Francis has announced that he will give an extraordinary Urbi et Orbi blessing this week with the opportunity for Catholics to receive a plenary indulgence by tuning in via media.
The prayer and blessing will take place on Friday, March 27 at 6pm Rome time (10am PDT) and will be broadcast on the Vatican News website: www.vaticannews.va/en.html
In a message encouraging the participation of the faithful, Bishop Jaime Soto writes:
"The Holy Father has invited us to join the Church for this moment of global communion and solidarity. All of us who hunger for the Body of Christ will gather spiritually as the Body of Christ. Pope Francis invites us to come together on a Friday of Lent, remembering the mercies Christ pours out upon us from the wound of His Most Sacred Heart."
