November-December issue of Catholic Herald magazine is pubished, with theme of 'hopes and dreams of millennial Catholics'

The November-December issue of Catholic Herald magazine has been published. The theme for the feature stories in this issue is "hopes and dreams of millennial Catholics." The digital edition of the magazine is available at http://faithdigital.org/Sacramento/SAC1118/#?page=0

In the cover story, we meet five "millennials" -- young adults born between 1980 and 2000 -- who reflect on their Catholic faith journeys. They share what's on their minds -- candidly, wistfully and bluntly. Cradle Catholics and converts, their faith stories, experiences and longings paint a vivid picture of the body of Christ. They are Donovan Serrano of Divine Mercy Parish in Sacramento, Stella Choi of St. Jeong-Hae Elizabeth Korean Catholic Community in Sacramento, Tanner Sheffield of St. John the Baptist Parish in Chico, Venus DeCoy of Our Lady of Grace Parish in West Sacramento, and Jennifer Riturban of Good Shepherd Parish in Elk Grove.

Other stories in this issue include a feature on Radio Santisimo Sacramento's (1240 AM) popular bilingual "Spanglish" show, "Young Soul--Alma Joven," and its co-hosts, Cecilia Aguilar-Clark and Juan Carlos Paredes, who describe their show about various faith and culture topics, as a lively conversation for listeners; a feature on two millennials who are serving as priests of the diocese, Father Jeremy Santos of St. Basil Parish in Vallejo and Father Michael Ritter of St. John the Baptist Parish in Chico; a feature on married couples, BeeJae and Christine Visitacion of St. John Vianney Parish in Rancho Cordova and Breanna and Patrick Farmer of Sacred Heart Parish in Red Bluff, who speak about balancing the demands of marriage and working in church ministry.

Bishop Jaime Soto is the publisher of Catholic Herald magazine, which is published six times each year and includes moving faith stories and high-quality photography about Catholics in the diocese, as well as news and events of the local church. Individual faith stories are the cornerstone of the magazine and columns also explore the Catholic faith and education about church teachings.
