The Bishop's Radio Hour is produced by the Diocese of Sacramento and for the past 18 years has been providing news of church happenings, provocative interviews and commentary on timely subjects. Highlights include regular live interviews with Bishop Jaime Soto and Auxiliary Bishop Myron J. Cotta.

The show's host is veteran radio broadcaster Bob Dunning, who is also a longtime newspaper columnist and parishioner at St. James Parish in Davis.

"It's a complete joy to do the show and to see every part of human activity the church is involved in – immigration, health care, social concerns, vocations, right to life efforts, youth and young adult ministry, Catholic schools – just to name a few," Dunning said. "On every show, we cover a range of diverse topics. It makes me proud to be a Catholic to have contact with so many different ministries and organizations and see how involved the church is in everyday life. Whether you are Catholic or not, the church is there to help and it’s very inspiring."

The show's longtime producer, Gabe Sorenson, said each broadcast will be available for listening on computers or mobile devices for 24 hours after the show airs on the diocese’s website at www.scd.org/bishopshour

Podcasts will be available on iTunes and Google Play. The Bishop’s Hour will also have a social media presence on Facebook to promote more interaction with listeners, he said.

Listeners are encouraged to contact the program with their comments, thoughts, guest suggestions and announcements of upcoming activities. Sorenson can be reached at radio@scd.org or by phone at 916.733.0107.
