March-April 2020 issue of Catholic Herald magazine is published, with theme of family life

The March-April issue of Catholic Herald magazine has been published. The theme for this issue is family life. The digital edition of the magazine is available at http://faithdigital.org/Sacramento/SAC0320/

In the cover story of the March-April issue, three Catholic families in the diocese share the joys and benefits they receive from having family meals together regularly. We hear the stories of the Bowers family of Sacred Heart Parish in Gridley, the Clark family of Sacred Heart Parish in Red Bluff, and the Mendoza family of St. Robert Parish in Sacramento.

Other stories in this issue include Bishop Jaime Soto's column on: "To be seated as a confessor, both as instrument and as a witness, is a privileged place"; how confirmation candidates are "fired up in their faith" by choosing saint names and sponsors who guide them on the path to full initiation; how celebrating the sacraments is a "family affair" for the Saldana family of St. Mary Parish in Sacramento; how the diocese's summer ministry, Camp Pendola, invites a "restart" and being unplugged with God and nature; and how families explore God's gift of human sexuality by having early discussions and ongoing conversations with their teenagers.

Bishop Jaime Soto is the publisher of Catholic Herald magazine, which is published six times each year and includes moving faith stories about Catholics in the diocese, as well as news and events of the local church. Individual faith stories are the cornerstone of the magazine and columns also explore the Catholic faith and education about church teachings.
