Executive Director of Catholic Schools Appointment

I have appointed Ms. Katie Perata to the position of Executive Director of Catholic Schools, effective July 1, 2021.

Katie currently serves as principal at St. Dominic School in Benicia, a position she has held since 2014. She is also co-founder of Hackathon Jr., a non-profit organization focused on engaging young students in STEM education. Prior to becoming principal, Katie taught English Language Arts for several years at a Catholic elementary school in the Diocese of Oakland. She recently completed her Doctorate in Educational Leadership.

Katie has dedicated herself to the mission of Catholic education, cultivating good disciples of the Lord Jesus. She fosters a strong relationship between the school and parish, earning the respect of pastors. She enjoys the respect of her peers in the Diocese of Sacramento.

Ms. Perata succeeds Mr. Lincoln Snyder, who has served in the role since May 2015. He will become President/CEO of the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA) on July 1, 2021.

Lincoln and Katie will collaborate to ensure a smooth transition not only for the Catholic School Department, but also for the pastors, principals, teachers, and families of all the Catholic schools in the Diocese.

Please join me in welcoming Ms. Katie Perata to our team. Together we will continue the good work of proclaiming the gospel of Jesus as we support children and young people in being His living sacrament of joy and hope in Northern California.
