Elias Mendoza is new principal of St. Francis Catholic High School in Sacramento

Theresa Rodgers, president of St. Francis Catholic High School in Sacramento, has announced the appointment of Elias Mendoza as principal effective July 1.

A highly qualified school administrator, Mendoza has been serving in the Elk Grove Unified School District for the past 14 years in a variety of capacities, including vice principal, social science department chair and co-coordinator of the English Language Learner Program at Florin High School. He possesses a strong background in curriculum and instruction, professional learning communities, technology implementation, athletics and expertise in long-range planning and facilities management.

He attended Catholic schools in his native Mexico, which instilled in him a deep faith and love for Catholic education. He holds a bachelor’s degree in social science and a master’s degree in education from CSU-Sacramento, as well as a single subject teaching credential and an administrative credential.
