Deacon Edwin T. Pogue, who was ordained to the permanent diaconate for service in the Diocese of Sacramento in 2000, died on Oct. 31 in Sutter Creek. He was 89.
He had served Immaculate Conception Parish in Sutter Creek for 23 years. Immaculate Conception Parish was eventually folded into St. Katherine Drexel Parish in Martell, along with a few other Amador County parishes.
He is survived by his wife, Francine, of Sutter Creek. Funeral services will be announced later.
