Bishop Cotta presides at ordination to transitional diaconate for seminarians from Sacramento, San Jose

Bishop Myron J. Cotta ordained three seminarians of the Diocese of Sacramento to the transitional diaconate during a Mass on Saturday, April 22, in St. Pius Church in Redwood City. Also ordained were three seminarians for the Diocese of San Jose. As transitional deacons, this will be one of their final steps before being ordained priests for the Diocese of Sacramento.


Jesus Hernandez Gonzalez and Hector Rene Jauregui Mejia are currently enrolled at St. Patrick’s Seminary in Menlo Park in Theology III. They will continue their studies at the seminary in Theology IV during the 2017-18 school year toward their priestly ordination.


German E. Ramos Plaza is currently enrolled at Mount Angel Seminary in Oregon in Theology IV. He will continue his studies at the seminary and will be assigned to a pastoral year at a parish in the diocese during the 2017-18 school year.
